About

A secular government is one which is religiously neutral. It favours no particular religion and more importantly it dose not favour religion in general over the non religious perspectives. It follows that neither should a secular government be anti religious.

In short there should be “separation of church and state”. This principle does not exist in Australia. It is the aim of the Secular Party of Australia to push for the establishment of a truly secular government in Australia that is completely neutral on matters of religion.

    Dear Kenneth,

I am writing to thank you for running in this year’s election.

I agree with your core principles, and think it is brave of you to run in the seat of Warringah.

Please continue your hard work. I look forward to seeing your name on a ballot paper in another three years.

    Respectfully,
    Your Local Friendly Atheist.
